1. What BuildLegal.ai is

BuildLegal.ai (“the Service”, “we”, “us”) is a tool that helps you describe, generate, and publish small web applications (“Generated Apps”) using AI. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

2. Not legal advice

BuildLegal.ai is software, not a law firm. Nothing the Service produces — including Generated Apps, scoping conversations, or educational content — is legal advice, and using the Service does not create an attorney–client relationship with us. You are responsible for ensuring that any tool you build and share complies with the professional, ethical, and legal obligations that apply to you and your jurisdiction.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the Service.

4. Plans, credits, and payment

The Service’s AI features use credits. Each AI step uses credits based on how much work it is: scoping conversations, building or changing an app, testing it, and the AI features inside apps you publish. A short wording change is a small charge. Building a new app, and rounds where the builder retests its work, use more. An automatic check that changes no code is not charged. Your Billing page shows recent charges. The balance on that page is what you have left, which is not the same number as the sum of the recent rows.

Free trial. A new account gets a one-time amount of free trial credits so you can try the Service. The free trial is not an ongoing plan: its credits do not refill. To keep using the AI features after they are used up, you need a paid plan.

Paid plans and monthly credits. Paid plans are monthly subscriptions. Each comes with a number of credits every month, which refill at the start of each billing period. Unused monthly credits do not roll over.

Extra usage. On a paid plan, if you use more than your monthly credits, the AI features keep working and the extra credits are charged at the per-credit price shown on our Pricing and Billing pages (currently $0.10 per credit). Extra usage is added to the invoice for your next billing period and charged to your card on file. You set a monthly limit on extra usage on your Billing page; a new subscription starts with the limit shown at checkout, and you can raise it, lower it, or set it to $0 to turn extra usage off at any time. When you reach your limit, AI features stop until you raise the limit or your next billing period starts. By subscribing you authorize us to charge your extra usage up to the limit you have set.

Promo credits. We may give extra credits through promo codes or promotions, limited to one promo code per account. Free trial and promo credits are used after your monthly credits and before any extra usage. They expire twelve months after they were last added to your account. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for money.

Running out. When you have no credits left (and, on a paid plan, extra usage is off or at its limit), AI features stop. This includes the AI features inside your published apps. If your credits run out partway through a change, the change stops and the work already done is saved. If the last step of a change costs slightly more than you had left, the difference comes out of your next credits or is counted as extra usage.

Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. Charges appear on your card statement as “CODELOGIC PRO”. That is the name on the payment account for BuildLegal.ai, not a separate product. Paid plans renew automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your plan until then; extra usage from that last period is billed on a final invoice. After that your account no longer receives monthly credits. We may change prices, the per-credit price, or the credits included in a plan, and we will tell you before a change affects your subscription. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, including for unused credits.

5. Your content and Generated Apps

You own the content you provide and the Generated Apps the Service creates for you. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service — for example, storing your project files, running them in sandboxes, and deploying them when you click Publish. You are responsible for the data your Generated Apps collect from their users, and for telling those users how their data is handled.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to build anything unlawful, deceptive, or harmful; to attempt to access other users’ data; to probe or overload our infrastructure; to resell the Service; or to abuse the AI features (for example, automated bulk generation intended to exhaust resources).

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers — including AI model providers, sandboxed compute, hosting, payments, and email delivery. When your Generated App uses an integration you connect (such as an email provider), your use of that integration is governed by that provider’s terms.

8. AI-generated output

AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and testing Generated Apps before using them in practice or sharing them with clients. We do not warrant that any Generated App is fit for a particular purpose.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available, but it is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes to these terms; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, liability limits, and disputes) survive.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. We have not published a state of formation or a street address on this page. If you need a formal notice address, email us and we will send it.
